I asked all the seniors the same questions. I was surprised to see some of the answers. I asked such questions like, Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? and What are your feelings toward the war?" Most of the students pretty much see themselves here in the city of Buffalo. They all would like to head off to college, but only two see themselves elsewhere. Three out of the five seniors I talked to told me that they are not working. When I asked why, they mostly said its because the economy is so poor, people are leaving and so are businesses. Feelings toward the war and politics jumped out the most to me. They all basically oppose them the war and its politics. To quote Dena, I think its ridiculous, a waste of money, a waste of millions of lives. I believe Bush is a pawn.

They all believe the draft is morally wrong. Andrew, a Computer Magnet student said this: I oppose it. Someone shouldnt be forced to go against his or her will. He also said, I dont think they shouldve had it (the war). Its a huge mistake. People lose family and friends.

Another big stunner that I was surprised about was their response to whether they would go to war or not. The majority said they would go to prison before they would go to war. Dena said she would flee to another country rather than face war. Portia enlightened me with this comment: Im not for the draft. I think that if there is a draft they should draft the people in prison.

When I asked the seniors if they thought President Bush was doing a good job they all basically said NO!!!!! But there was one senior that said President Bush is trying - trying to make amends for September 11th. Nicole said, His actions dont seem to be thought out fully. He doesnt have his priorities set.

I asked if any of them would like to see someone else take action. The answer was YES!!! A big name that I heard from them was former first lady Hillary Clinton.

My final question was Will you vote in the 2008 election? The majority had ruled and they said Yes, I will vote.

In conclusion my top-secret mission was a success. The word is now getting out to the youth of America. Im sort of glad that my generation is stepping up and voicing themselves. I still believe more of us should be thinking more politically and getting into this. By Michael Sciandra

At the tender age of seventeen, I got kicked out of school because I had finished my half-year and moved on to do an internship here with the Alt Press. General Joe Schmidbauer sent Private Michael Sciandra (thats me) into the cold harsh world of interviews. My top-secret mission was to set out and get some answers from students at a Buffalo Public School. I asked students about where they see themselves, what are their plans, and about their views on politics. I barely escaped from the harshness of being eaten alive by them. I had the joy of interviewing five seniors at Bennett High School.

Their names are Portia, Dena, Andrew, Nicole, and Sammy. Each one of them kindly agreed to do the interview for which I am ever so thankful and indebted. They devoted a moment of their time to speak with me to help create my article. These students are between the ages of 17-18 years old. They spoke their minds to me and answered my questions quite honestly. For that I say, thank you, kind students of Bennett High School.
