To carry a petition a person must vote in the city of Buffalo and must not have already signed anyone's petition for mayor - not even mine for the democratic primary. A person who carries, ie. witnesses signatures, can be affliated with any party or unaffiliated, a blank, or as most people say, independent.
To sign this petition a person must meet the same criteria - a registered voter in Buffalo who hasn't signed any other petition for mayor. Volunteering requires walking door to door, encouraging friends and family who are eligible to sign, and/or working the crowd at festivals in the city. It's actually fun most of the time. Sometimes we grab signatures on the fly, sometimes we spend an hour or two walking neighborhoods in the evening. I'm looking for people who will represent me well. People have to enjoy working with the public, be patient and show good judgment, and proud to represent the campaign. I'd like to meet everyone who's willing to help. That way I can answer questions about my positions and about petitioning. Volunteers need to step up quickly so we can this done. Petitioning will be completed mid-Aug. The Einach campaign for mayor of Buffalo seeks volunteers willing to get signatures on our Independent Designating Petition. The Green Party of Erie County is playing a key role in this petition drive. Because I've received the Green endorsement, we've named the line that will appear on the ballot, assuming we're successful, Green. We need 1500 "good" signatures - not an easy task but doable. Voters are very receptive to my candidacy. Petitioning begins today. We already have a dozen people working. But we need more. Not all signatures will be "good" so the real goal is 3000 signers. 50 volunteers would be ideal. Some petitioners will exceed 100 signatures. Some will only get 1-5. Every signature counts. I appreciate all efforts
