Calling the recent Superintendent and Board of Education contract offer
· “An insult to Buffalo teachers”
· “Proof that the Board has been misleading its employees and the public and never intended to provide employees with a single carrier with undiminished benefits” The BTF Executive Committee today unanimously rejected the Superintendent and Board of Education’s contract offer and authorized legal action against the School District. See enclosed resolution.
The resolution
· Cites Board proposed cuts in every major category of health coverage despite the District’s promise and public statements to move to a single carrier with no reduction in coverage.
· Cites additional cuts in health benefits for teachers, including having teachers pay 20% of their health care.
